This week, we take a look at what will undoubtedly be some of the worst movies in 2008. As a result, it wasn’t hard to pick The Orphanage as the movie of the week. It’s the only film even makes an attempt to tell a cohesive story. Also, little deformed boys who wear potato sacks over their heads make me feel warm and fuzzy inside. No, not really. That was sarcasm.

Weekly Fave:

The Orphanage

In limited release, The Orphanage is an Spanish horror movie that doesn’t rely on blood and gore. The story is about a woman (Laura) who buys an old orphanage that she stayed at when she was a child with plans to turn it into a home for sick children. But then, her son starts to play with imaginary friends, one of whom wears a creepy sack on his head. Three words: Rule of Rose.

Others:

First Sunday

Ice Cube and Tracy Morgan star in a very unfunny movie about two friends who must rob a church to pay a debt. Har har.

The Bucket List

If you enjoy seeing two old men have as much fun as they can before they die, this is the film for you. Want to live for today? Walk out of the theater and demand your money back.

In The Name of the King: A Dungeon Siege Tale

Uwe Boll’s newest movie is about a farmer named Farmer who fights an evil wizard on fake looking CG landscapes. Also, Burt Reynolds plays a king. Darn you, German tax loopholes!
